Check Mail

Check Mail looks for email waiting in your mail account(s) and then, without downloading it to your computer, shows you what's there on the Mail list.

If you have more than one mail account and wish to check only one of them, select File->Check Mail, then click on the account you wish to check. You can also do this through the pulldown beside the Check Mail button.

Tip: Clicking the Check Mail button is the same as opening the File Menu, selecting Check Mail, and clicking Default Accounts. It automatically checks for email at all of your mail accounts.

Process Mail

Process Mail performs whatever actions are indicated on the Mail list, specifically Delete and Bounce. Wherever the Delete box is checked, that mail is deleted from the server so that you won't have to download it to your computer. Wherever the Bounce box is checked, a message goes to the sender indicating that your address does not exist - a way of telling spammers not to waste time on you.

If you have more than one mail account and wish to process only one of them, select File->Process Mail, then click on that account. You can also do this through the pulldown beside the Process Mail button.

Tip: Clicking the Process Mail button is the same as opening the File Menu, selecting Process Mail, and clicking Default Accounts. It processes all of the email shown on the Mail list.

After processing, normally you'll want to switch to your regular email program to download what's left to your computer. This ensures that you'll only see email you actually want! To tell Chrysanth Mail Manager to do this automatically, see Setup->Options->Mail.

Stop

Stop tells Chrysanth Mail Manager to stop what it's doing, whether it's checking for mail, verifying it with DNSBL Servers, or processing it.

If you have more than one mail account and wish to stop activity on the one being handled right now, select File->Stop, then click on Skip Current Account. You can also do this through the pulldown beside the Stop button.

Tip: Clicking the Stop button is the same as opening the File Menu, selecting Stop, and clicking Stop.
